Weddings

Diana works with each couple on an individual basis to plan a unique and meaningful musical program for their ceremony. As a point of reference, she is pleased to offer "tried and true" recommendations of appropriate selections. The suggestions below convey a variety of moods and tones, and each are well suited to the distinct requirements of a ceremony.

Click on the titles in blue to plan your program directly from this page:

Prelude

Prelude music for guest seating typically begins 30 minutes before the ceremony and consists of approximately 6- 10 songs.

Bach: Arioso

Bach: Prelude No. 1 in C Major

Debussy: Clair de lune

Debussy: En Bateau

Clapton: Wonderful Tonight

Rachmaninoff: 18th Variation

Salzedo: Tango

Tournier: Soupir

Twain/Lange: From This Moment On

I Dreamed a Dream

Processional

This song accompanies everyone who approaches the altar before the bride: mothers, groom, officiant, groomsmen, bridesmaids,
ring bearer and flower girl.

Bach: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring

Bach: Air on the G String

Giordano: Caro Mio Ben

Vivaldi: Winter

Beethoven: "Pathetique" Sonata, Opus 13, Mvmt. 2

Bridal March

For the bride's entrance and procession. Here, the most important song of the ceremony can either be dignified and majestic, or quiet and restrained.

Clarke: Trumpet Voluntary

Gluck: March of the Priests

Lennon/McCartney: In My Life

Pachelbel: Canon

Puccini: Musetta's Waltz, from La Boheme

Candle Lighting/ Musical Interlude

A quiet, unobtrusive song works well during moments of reflection.

Debussy: La Fille aux Cheveux de Lin

Malotte: The Lord's Prayer

Massenet: Meditation from 'Thais'

Salzedo: Reverie

Steiner: My Own True Love (Tara Theme)

Recessional

Immediately following the announcement of the couple, this piece is traditionally joyful and upbeat.
Music can continue for an additional 1- 2 songs as guests exit.

Puccini: O Mio Babbino Caro (O My Beloved Father)

Purcell: Trumpet Tune

Mendelssohn: Wedding March

Rodgers/ Hammerstein: Some Enchanted Evening

Weiss/Thiele: What a Wonderful World

Clients are advised to choose one piece for each part of their ceremony. This allows for a more desirable flow of music and a stronger accompaniment to the processions.
